Thailand Through Foreign Eyes

Once upon a time, I lived in Thailand. It’s an odd place — certainly not the simple Land of Smiles of the tourist brochures. I’m not sure anyone who’s never lived in Thailand can really appreciate the layers upon layers of peculiarity that have accreted. There is one thing of which you can be sure: If you are a photographer, there’s no shortage of material. The photos in this gallery span from 2000 until 2016. They were taken all over the country, from Chiang Mai in the north to the islands in the South.
